Requests for Proposals|

The CRC Atmospheric Impacts Committee (AIC) 2027 project ideas will be considered during the annual AIC meeting on July 14-15, 2026.  The value of these projects derives from your in-the-trenches experience. The value of the CRC AIC research is YOU. Proposals are welcome from everyone. Collaborative and/ or co-funded projects are particularly valuable.

To be considered for 2027 funding, please fill out the New Project Proposal Form and submit your AIC project idea proposals by June 26th, 2026 via this online submission page here. Please include a title, brief summary and estimated costs and the attached form in either word or pdf format.  You may include additional files such as a draft Statement of Work if you have one. You may submit more than one proposal via separate submissions, if so, please indicate your project priority.  Make sure you include a persuasive case. Submissions should be limited to one page.  Submissions will be given preferential consideration if they are consistent with results from CRC workshops, presented as appendices in the proposal form.  See CRC’s 2022 Air Quality Research Needs Workshop Top 10 Research Needs in Appendix 1; 2018 Southern California Ozone Research Symposium Top 5 Research Needs, Appendix 2 (Ideas do not need to be Southern CA specific); and 2016 Air Quality Research Needs Workshop Top 11 Research Needs, Appendix 3.

The AIC will discuss the proposals at the July meeting for agreement and selection.  After this, full proposals will be invited from the top candidates. Proposals will be presented to the CRC Board of Directors at their October meeting. The final slate of projects is confirmed after approval by the CRC Board of Directors for project initiation no sooner than January 1, 2027. The AIC total budget for 2027 is estimated at $175k, which is available for new projects. Large or multi-year projects are funded only when everyone recognizes the importance; co-funding may also enable a large project.
